Executive Assistant to the VC & Secretariat Manager
Salary: £41,026 per annum + benefits, based in SE London
We are seeking to recruit a driven and passionate Executive Assistant to provide support to the Vice Chancellor, Director of HR & OD, Director of Student Recruitment and Success and the Director of Innovation, Industry and Enterprise. The successful candidate will also line manage the Secretariat team to support the executive department.
This role will require a flexible and highly organised individual to take control of diaries, manage workflow, action emails, and keep track of reports, actions and deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a HE institution and will also be confident in dealing with the board of governors and facilitating meetings and taking minutes.
You will need to be extremely motivated when working on your own, unflappable when working to tight deadlines and also be able to multi-task, anticipating needs and juggling competing priorities. The post sits within the Secretariat so being a team player is also an essential part of the role, and maintaining a positive ‘can-do’ attitude in an ever-changing landscape is key.
Essential qualities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritise, plan and organise work and meet deadlines efficiently
Ability to work with a high degree of flexibility and autonomy, tackling new areas of work with confidence
Proven experience of managing a team
Being discreet and confidential at all times, and dealing with sensitive information in a professional manner
Strong IT skills to include MS Office and Teams
Previous experience of facilitating meetings and taking minutes within a HE institution
