The role

Ravensbourne University is seeking a talented, self-motivated, and passionate Social Media Officer to join our Marketing, Communications and Content department. 

This role plays an essential part in driving brand awareness by designing, coordinating and implementing the departments social media engagement plan.  

To be suitable for this role you must have demonstrable experience of developing social media marketing campaigns and monitoring activity to increase reach and engagement.

Having a meticulous eye for detail, strong interpersonal skills, and being able to build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders is a must for this role. 

Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Create social media content for a range of channels to ensure high levels of measurable engagement with target audiences.

  •  To determine appropriate channel for audience, content and messages to ensure assets deliver maximum value.

  •  Work with the Marketing Campaigns Manager to ensure organic and paid for social media activity dovetail and that student recruitment leads are nurtured through social campaigns.

  •  Keep ahead of social media trends and introduce new platforms as appropriate.

  •  Provide support to the University’s crisis communications response team as well as being responsible for producing timely and precise media activity during crisis events.

  • Be responsible for monitoring social media activity on a daily basis responding to messages in an appropriate tone and signposting to other University services where relevant to promote positive reputation and alerting relevant colleagues within the University of any issues arising.
