The role

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Further Education and Apprenticeships to lead, develop, manage and expand our Further Education and Apprenticeships portfolio.  The post holder will be joining during an exciting period of growth for the University and will lead the management of the FE and Apprenticeship department, ensuring that key performance indicators for recruitment, progression and student experience meet Ravensbourne’s expectations of excellence.   The Head will additionally ensure alignment of the developing portfolio with Ravensbourne’s Corporate Strategy and manage and develop the staff in the area to ensure successful outcomes through OFSTED and other external body evaluation.  

The role will assume operational oversight of all aspects of portfolio management including staff management, budgeting and resourcing, student recruitment/progression, timetabling, learning and teaching, academic quality, assessment, learner feedback, and staff recruitment, workload planning and development.

The candidate

The ideal candidate will possess significant management experience working in the Further and/or Higher Education sectors in a creative context. They will have specific, applied knowledge of the existing and evolving qualification landscape (Foundation, Access to HE, T Levels, HTQ’s and apprenticeships), sound knowledge of the regulatory and funding frameworks for Further Education and apprenticeships and a track record of successful departmental and team management.  A leader and innovator, they will have experience of developing and delivering new qualifications with excellent outcomes and delivering new qualifications with excellent outcomes and a passion for ensuring that the student experience in of the highest quality.
