The Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our Estates and Facilities team, specialising in Technical Services.
You’ll work on a rotating shift pattern (morning, day, and evening shifts) across three buildings located just minutes apart.

Reporting to the Assistant Technical Services Manager, you will take responsibility for the day‑to‑day upkeep and maintenance of Ravensbourne’s mechanical and electrical assets. You’ll ensure our facilities operate at peak performance through proactive maintenance, timely repairs, and a commitment to safe, high‑quality engineering practice.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Carrying out scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive tasks to maintain site assets and ensure equipment availability.
- Ensuring routine maintenance is completed across all building plant, equipment, and systems in line with expectations and service level agreements.
- Responding to Building Management System alarms and undertake emergency repairs when required.
- Identifying, estimating, and supporting repair or project works in line with best practice and regulatory standards.
- Managing and monitoring the Permit to Work system to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Maintaining appropriate stock levels of mechanical and electrical spares.
- Keeping comprehensive maintenance records, both digital and hard copy.
- Preparing and following Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe working practices.
- Supervising engineering subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and site procedures.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical services, including fault‑finding and repairs within large commercial buildings. Experience working in environments requiring regular face‑to‑face engagement with building managers, working with stakeholders will be an advantage.

This role requires working across Ravensbourne buildings on a weekly shift roster, Monday to Friday, 7am 7pm.
