The Role

Ravensbourne University London is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Events Manager to grow the Student Recruitment Marketing team. The post holder will support the planning and delivery of physical, virtual and hybrid recruitment events in line with the University’s recruitment strategy for attracting new audiences, converting offer holders, celebrating student success, positively impacting the student and staff experience, and increasing the exposure and reputation of the University.

The Events Manager will support a range of events, including Open Days, Offer Holder Events, Building Tours, and Graduations. The role will also work closely with academic teams to manage the production of the End of Year Show which showcases student work. This includes coordinating internal and external stakeholders in the logistical planning and promotion each event, all whilst maintaining the highest levels of customer service and attendee experience.

The Candidate

Our ideal candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude with the ability to work to strict deadlines and manage multiple workflows. With a background in event planning, ideally in further or higher education, you will be customer focused and driven to meet and exceed targets. You will have a meticulous eye for detail, strong project management and interpersonal skills, and commitment to excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Senior Events Manager in implementing a programme of FE, UG, and PG recruitment events and delivering the University’s graduation ceremonies and annual showcase.
  • Supporting the project management of events through to successful delivery whilst adhering to a brief, objectives and deadlines.
  • Proactively building and maintaining working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders ensuring quality across agreed deliverables.
  • Working to agreed budgets whilst considering value for money and sustainability against the University's values.
  • Supporting on the logistics and operational delivery of events ensuring a high level of customer service is delivered to positively boost the reputation of the University.
  • Ensuring the annual Events Calendar is kept up to date and visible to staff across the University.
  • Collaborating with the wider Student Recruitment Marketing and Communications & Content teams to ensure clear and compelling promotion of events making sure that all aspects of event delivery adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Responsible for recruiting, managing and briefing Student Ambassadors and staff volunteers for events.
  • Providing data updates and consolidating customer feedback to input into evaluation reports.
  • Supporting the Senior Events Manager on business continuity planning, health & safety, risk management and accessibility options for all events.
  • Acting as an ambassador during Open Days and other key student recruitment events on behalf of the University.
  • The role will involve travel within London for events as required.
