The Role
We are seeking an experienced specialist in IT Management to join our academic team. Our ambition is to equip students with a strong competitive edge in an evolving digital economy, with a particular focus on the application of emerging technologies, professional practice, and industry relevance.
As Course Leader for BSc IT Management, you will provide academic leadership for the programme and its teaching team. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment that aligns with sector expectations, industry standards, and institutional strategy, while supporting student success, progression, and employability.
You will deliver excellent teaching and create engaging, applied learning experiences, while leading curriculum development and innovation to reflect current and emerging industry practice. The role includes line management of a small teaching team and close collaboration with colleagues, professional services, and external partners.
You will have comprehensive knowledge of IT management and digital business, with expertise in enterprise technologies and platforms (such as ERP, CRM, and cloud services), alongside proficiency in relevant technical, analytical, and managerial tools. You will demonstrate a strong understanding of IT service management, project and programme delivery, and organisational change, grounded in contemporary professional practice.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced academic and practitioner with a strong background in IT management, digital transformation, and professional practice. They will combine in-depth knowledge of enterprise technologies with expertise in areas such as IT service management, project and programme management, business analysis, and data-informed decision-making.
They will have experience of course leadership or programme coordination, including curriculum design, assessment, quality assurance, and student support. The candidate will be confident in working with industry partners and embedding employability, live briefs, and professional practice into the curriculum.
You will demonstrate effective academic leadership, including mentoring and supporting staff, driving teaching innovation, and contributing to recruitment, retention, and positive student outcomes. You will be collaborative, well organised, and outcome-focused, with a clear understanding of the evolving role of IT management within organisations and the ability to align the programme with institutional strategy and industry needs.
While not essential, a PhD and a credible research or knowledge-exchange profile are strongly preferred.
